OFFSHORE FISH FARMING SOLUTIONS

Global food security is a major issue and became food sovereignty issue priority with the recent pandemic. Healthy diets through quality proteins sourced sustainably became a priority on the agenda of developed countries and the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Aquaculture within the blue economy and being the fastest growing food-producing sector plays an important role in securing food supplies for a global population.

Aquaculture as we know it is being strongly challenged by the new demands that the world has placed on it today regarding waste and sustainability, regarding the density and environmental load capacity of each area, regarding the high rate of diseases and the use of antibiotics, and finally to animal welfare and cruelty.

Ocean Sovereign with the “Ocean Arks“ technology solves these challenges, moving aquaculture offshore and the fish to where they belong, their natural habitat, the ocean.

Fish welfare is at the heart of what we do, and this care will undoubtedly transfer into the quality of the fish, with the highest commercial values.

Through deep knowledge of aquaculture and the new challenges of the planet, relying on the highest technology available, we have designed a simple and profitable fish production unit:

  • Commercially and economically viable.
  • Sustainable significantly reducing carbon footprint by reducing shipping distance production being next to the market.
  • Increasing fish welfare through low density 98.5% water 1.5% Fish and therefore increasing end product/fish quality, bringing back fish to their natural habitat with natural currents and natural lighting, not confined their entire life to a pond or a static location with low oxygenates or with shallow bottoms and accumulated debris. Ocean Arks patented technology, as on their natural conditions, allows the fish to travel and to swim against the tides and natural currents resulting in muscular low fat fish, preserving their fins just as the wild fish. All these simple principles lead to better fish welfare and reduce the impact on the environment.
  • We seek to significantly reduce the risks of diseases, using natural materials such as copper for fish nets, which have antimicrobial properties proven for years, in addition to not requiring chemicals to keep the nets clean, nor large teams of divers and boats for their maintenance.
  • Increasing profitability through data-driven AI technology, highest growing ratios for production and low production / investment costs.
  • Strong know-how from Chile, Proudly taking its first steps in the production of finfish more than 115 years ago under harsh conditions, with little or no infrastructure and being the most distant (thousands of kilometers) from consumer markets. Despite these difficulties, the Chilean aquaculture industry, 36 years after the start of salmon and trout production, is now the second largest producer worldwide, our team is formed by Chile award winning leading aquaculture pioneers and innovators with proven world-class track record in innovative production of finfish.
  • Social responsibility is one of our main concern, Our technology enables the involvement of local communities on target markets, social responsibility, bringing jobs to the ports where we will load our materials such as fish feed, ship supply, and unload of the production of fish.
  • Two main species we will start with are high quality and market value Salmon and the Greater Amber Jack.
